Ceiling as a unifying element of the spaces. Apartment as a continuous space

The architectural studio CAVAA is the protagonist of the intervention on an apartment of 50sqm, with a poorly ventilated and illuminated space, which has been transformed into a continuous space, minimizing the partition walls and creating a unique false ceiling

The project, by CAVAA arquitectes, was developed from the idea of connecting the different spaces of the house thanks to a single element, which materializes in the use of a false ceiling that goes from one end to the other of the apartment, overlapping the existing elements

The apartment is developed for 50 square metres and before the renovation it had small rooms, as well as being poorly lit and ventilated. The rooms were organized in such a way that the activities were segregated in the spaces and there was no communication between one space and another

The new intervention preserves the house as a sequence of rooms but at the same time creates a continuous space, minimizes the use of partition walls by separating the various rooms with furniture, changes of textures in the flooring or the use of sliding doors
