The pre-existing house, consisting of three stone volumes that fit the slope is located on a steeply sloping ground, sheltered from the winds. In the project proposal, the stone volumes are preserved and the third volume is replaced by a new stone one

Fuertes PenedoArquitectos intervenes on a small nucleus of traditional nature, formed by stone houses and numerous granaries. A concrete volume, open to the surrounding views, replacing one of the three existing adjacent stone volumes
While the facades of the stone volumes maintain the original openings, those of the new volume with large windows, overlook the panoramic views, orienting outwards. The project aims not to alter the materials used: the maintenance of the stone is limited, concrete and zinc, which connects the roofs and are left exposed
Three skylights are introduced, on the dining room, the shower and the old block, in order to facilitate the lighting of the interior spaces. The interior has fluid spaces, the rooms of the house have different heights, and each has a unique character. The interior is unified by the use of a single material, Galician pine, which gives warmth to the interior of the house
