Minma | Maxima is a permanent Pavilion created by Marc Fornes/Theverymany, for World Expo 2017. The structure captivates the visitor in a playful way, transporting them into a bizarre future that makes them to no longer themselves and gives them a feeling of naive astonishment

The project is fundamentally different from the other pavilions built. The aim is to explore, to wander visually, taking the visitor back to a childish state, making them lose their bearings and instead using the powerful investigative powers of their senses

The project extends the research and development efforts of MARC FORNES / THEVERYMANY to achieve structural integrity through ultra-thin self-supporting aluminum surfaces, which find their strength in the double curvature of their form

The branches, the cracks create a net surface that goes in on itself, transforming itself into a space that modifies the preconceived notions of the enclosure, entrance/exit and threshold, it bends in all directions, while remaining upright alone

The three layers of flat, white and white pink sandwich strips are built in tandem, supporting each other as they assume curvature and elevation gain. One layer never works independently but helps to support the other. The strips of each layer move perpendicularly to each other, creating a composite material
