The park as a connection of different areas. It is the Library of the Trees in Milan

Designed in 2003 by the Inside Outside Team, which won the international competition organized by the City of Milan, the Park "The Library of Trees" was built in 2018, becoming an urban link, cultural campus and botanical garden

The Park is the first to serve as a link, since its paths are designed by the various adjacent residential, commercial and governmental areas around the site, creating a grid of paths that overlap and intersect with each other. These paths combined with the irregular patterns created in the middle are at a higher height than the traffic tunnels below, creating sound walls and bridge roads

The network plots are composed of different species, carefully selected according to their shape and colour and with different growth patterns, to ensure a continuous flowering of the park. It is a collection of species and ecosystems that both replicate and consolidate the surrounding heterogeneous urban landscape in their variety. One of its characteristics is the circular forests scattered on the site, which develop into roofs of leaves of different colours and structures that seem to float above the park, creating plant pavilions

The paths strengthen the existing urban axis, guide visitors through the park and provide botanical information and poetic inspiration to be discovered by the visitors. They also define the ever-changing fields of meadows, flowering meadows, shrubs, perennials and vegetable gardens, offering a string of scents and colours

A series of cultural, educational, social and commercial buildings are located in the park and along its edges which are always active in the cultural programme, making the park a place that is always alive and rich in events
