Multifunctional complex in San Francisco. Old Church furnished as Event Hall

The architectural studio balbek bureau designs a multifunctional architectural complex in a lively area of San Francisco, including a residential building, an old church furnished as a modern event hall and a common courtyard

The initial idea of the project was to create a launchpad for the development of young startups. In this way young people could live, work, socialize in a single space of inspiration. The result would have been a modern educational centre with multi-functional spaces, assembly halls, which would have been housed in an old church with furniture

The church is none other than the church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a landmark for the city of San Francisco, dating back to 1880. Closed for worship in 1990, in recent years the basement of the church itself has been used as a schoolhouse. When the renovation work began, the church was equipped with auxiliary rooms adjoining to the central one, with a capacity of 200 people
