Restoration of villa Benvenuti in the province of Turin. Enhancement between Light and Colour

Intervention carried out by Architect Pietro Carlo Pellegrini at Rivarolo Canavese in the province of Turin. Brightness and transparency of the spaces enhance the purity of the forms as well as the attention to detail and the historical characteristics of the building

The renovation of Villa Benvenuti by the architect Pietro Carlo Pellegrini has captured and enhanced the historical and architectural characteristics of the building, introducing small adjustments to functional hygiene, made with lightweight structures that are partly transparent, in absolute respect of the structural and functional uniqueness of the building

The project involved the internal functional reorganization of the building unit by intervening on the horizontal and vertical structures, in order to reorganize them according to more balanced and linear standards to enable better exploitation of the existing volume and the various surfaces.

The building has undergone some consolidation and restoration of the ceilings, roofing and floors, walls and interior decorations. The floor has a Venetian style with the insertion of white marble tiles from Carrara, the bathroom walls have been made with colored resins

The Turkish bath has been designed with a polished red enamel resin. The staircase was designed with iron frames on the basis of designs. The doors are all walled. The indoor pool was specifically designed and covered with black resin. The carbon table was designed by the architect Pietro Carlo Pellegrini. In the house, sculptures by Lodola, Mitoraj and Arman alternate

The use of materials is carefully considered and is fundamental in the final appearance of the interiors, which are characterized by wood, stone, iron and glass, which are always chosen on the basis of their particular characteristics. The result is an excellent combination of antiquity and modernity characterized by the continuous interaction between materials and decorations of the villa combined with the design intervention. Architect Pietro Carlo Pellegrini, has been able to redistribute and re-functionalize the spaces thanks to the precise choice of each single piece of furniture

The inspiring theme of this project was the renovation of the structures based on historical evidence, preceded and integrated by the careful analysis of the evolution of the buildings during the phases of survey and during the subsequent series of trials
