While the original architecture, designed by architect Arto Spilla and awarded in the same year at the Annual Concrete Award, does not require any renovation, the interior spaces are redesigned to respond effectively to the new functions of the library as a hub for events or a place for meetings

The restyling approach is delicate and is in line with the original design. The functions and fixed furnishings are reorganized, with most of the furniture and materials being changed. The result is therefore better visual cohesion, as well as smoother visitor dynamics

The first department to be revised is that dedicated to children, followed by the reorganization of the reading and music listening areas. The restructuring of the lobby and the cafeteria will be continued only in the second phase, thus operating in a gradual and non-invasive way
